When executives at Nielsen Media Research – the international service responsible for amassing data and assessing TV viewing habits across the United States – decided to consolidate their Pinellas County operations, they asked architects for a new campus to match the company's high-tech character.
Construction of Nielsen's new 39-acre campus was designed to be completed in 3 phases. The first phase is a $100-million, 470,000 s.f. operational headquarters in the Brooker Creek Corporate Center. It houses 900 employees. Phase II (137,000 s.f.) started construction in 2004 and will add another 700 to 1,000 employees. The project also includes a new four-story, 138,000 s.f. office building that will tie into the Phase I.
